Home vs Business

Home vs Business Carpet Care

Having a clean home enhances relaxation and security that families desire in a personal habitat. But why should businesses offer similar environments? People spend more time at home than anywhere else, and in most businesses the customer is only there a short time. Having a clean business is simply good business. Customers and employees appreciate the comfort of a well maintained area, but the owner benefits even more because clean surroundings reflects on the integrity of the business itself.

Hidden Dangers

Carpets and upholstery can be vacuumed and dusted by anyone, but are they really cleaned? The hidden dangers lie deep in fibers and fabric and are not easily removed by regular vacuuming. Allergens produced by dust mites and pollen become embedded in furniture and carpeting. They pose health problems for those susceptible to allergies. Commercial maintenance technicians use equipment specifically designed to reach hidden allergens, dirt, and contaminants. Professional deep cleaning should be performed regularly according to the amount of traffic and the geographic location of the building.

More information can be found here: http://www.carpet-rug.org/residential-customers/cleaning-and-maintenance/deep-cleaning-and-selecting-a-carpet-cleaning-professional.cfm

Some cleaning products cannot be used on certain fabrics. Knowledgeable professionals can clean upholstery safely and completely without damaging furniture. Carpeting is the air filter of a room as particles of dust and microscopic organisms float in the atmosphere and settle onto the flooring. It is ground into the fibers by walking traffic or re-enters the air when disturbed by that same traffic. This poses problems for the allergy-prone. Professional cleaning eliminates allergens and contaminants for a fresh, safe business.

Benefits Of Using A Rug Cleaning Professional

Most people walk over their household rugs on a regular basis and never give a second thought to what might be hiding inside of them; however, a professional rug cleaning company can quickly tell you that there are plenty of visitors that you did not invite in. Unfortunately, the longer a rug sits in a home the more dirt and bacteria it will accumulate, and you will be surprised at just how many harmful allergens and germs have been hiding in a rug from the moment that you see the water left behind. In most homes, one professional sweep over the carpet with a steam cleaner will leave jet black water.

You may think that your carpets are just a bit dusty, but a bit dusty does not leave you with water that could be ink. So what makes the water so dark? First off, it is partially the dust that accumulates in your home over time. You may vacuum, but even regular sweeps will not reach the dust that has settled deep down into the fabrics of a rug. That is just the starting point, because along with the hidden dust are tons of allergens that fall out of the air or just off of your feet.

These allergens can cause anyone with allergies in your home to suffer from sneezing fits, red eyes, and a runny nose on a daily basis. They are cleverly hidden deep down into rug fabrics so even if you have an air purifier in a home, keep the windows shut, and have cleaned every surface you can see they will still be affecting members of your home. If you have tried everything to help treat their allergies, a professional rug cleaning might be the one thing left that will actually do the trick.

This is because the tools that a rug cleaning professional will use are industrial strength. Industrial strength toys are able to lift the dirt right out of carpets and your home compared to anything that you might have in your broom closet. In addition, professionals are skilled at removal tactics and disposal tactics to make sure that you do not accidentally keep any allergens in your home after cleaning. That broom closet by the way? It’s likely a germ and dirt disaster area. Clean your home right by hiring a professional to come in and beat dust and bacteria once and for all. You can contact carpet cleaning companies that know how to clean everything. Carpet Cleaning Fort Myers

Housecleaning Tips : How to Clean a Ceramic Tile Shower

Many showers have ceramic tile and this can be difficult to keep clean if you don’t do it regularly. The trick to keeping your ceramic tile looking great is to clean it on a regular basis and not let too much time go by. It is a good idea to go over your ceramic tile with a vinegar and water mixture and wipe it down with a sponge. If you have grout, it requires a little more work to keep it looking great. There are a couple of different ways to do this. One great solution is to mix vinegar and baking soda into a paste. You can take a toothbrush and scrub each area of grout with the vinegar and baking soda mixture. Once you have scrubbed the area, wipe it down to get the mixture off. This is the best way to keep your grout clean. In between cleanings with this mixture, you can mix a capful of bleach with a quart of water in a spray bottle and spray down the shower focusing on the grout. As long as you didn’t put too much bleach in the water, you don’t even need to wipe the shower down after spraying it. Another great tool to use to keep your grout clean is a bleach pen.

How To Stencil a Wall with Paint

If you have ever wanted to use stenciling instead of wall paper, this video by Home Depot is for you. The directions are “spot on” as they show someone actually stenciling a wall, as well as showing you everything you will need in the way of supplies to complete your project. I liked the video as it showed step by step how to use “vertical” and “horizontal” lines, and where you will need to place the stencil each time, and where to mark the stencil to place it below or to the side(meaning horizontal) as you work. The print that you have made on the wall will look like a professional has done the work for you. After you have completed your project Home Depot also shows you how to clean up your stencil, so that you can reuse it again in the future. If I had to rate the project from a one to ten, as ten being the highest number, I would definitely give it a big ten on ease, and ideas for improving your plain walls! On a personal note, you can use your stencils for other projects, such as making a personal card to send to someone. I have done this myself many times, and for some reason I love doing cards that I have taken the time to make myself, and actually water based paints will work on paper. So if you have any left over paint, feel free to use a small amount to stencil any other projects around the house, or like I have done, making cards, or even wrapping paper out of the stencil that you already have.

Removing Pet Stains

If your pet vomits on the carpet, there is an easy, inexpensive way to clean it up. You will need baking soda, a bucket of warm water, vinegar, a spray bottle, some rags and a vacuum cleaner. The first thing you want to do is pick up any food that was vomited up and pat the area with a damp rag to absorb any moisture. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the area where the vomit is. In the spray bottle, combine 50% vinegar and 50% warm water and mix them together. Spray the mixture over the baking soda. You want to leave this sit for about a half an hour. The baking soda and vinegar will have a chemical reaction that will break down the odor of the pet stains. The baking soda is also known to help bring back any discoloration in the carpet. After you have let the two react, you want to remove the mixture with a rag and warm water. Go over the area a few times, cleaning up as much as you can with the rag. Now, you want to let the area dry for a few hours. You can vacuum the remaining mixture up with a vacuum cleaner once the area is dry. Try this process on urine stains too.

Carpet Cleaning Solutions

If you are looking for a natural way to commercially clean your carpets, Sabrina Soto from HGTV provides a simple recipe to do so. First you will need to take half a cup of borax, which you can find at most grocery stores, mixed in a pint of warm water. Next take a rag dipped it in your borax solution and blot it over the stain. Let it sit for about half and hour then rinse or let it sit overnight and vacuum your stain in the morning. (Carpet Cleaning Orange County) With all the commercial cleaners out there, this method works great and saves you from working with lots of unsafe chemicals. If you are looking to replace carpet, HGTV brings you the idea of carpet tiles. They are individual pieces of carpet, set as tiles, that if you stain it you can just replace that individual spot instead of having to replace the whole carpet. The carpet tiles are also one-hundred percent recyclable which does good for our environment. If you don’t want the hassle of having to replace your whole carpet because of one stain, then carpet tiles would be a great investment. This will save you time and of course money! -Cleaning Agents Jondon

Tile Grout Cleaning Solutions

This video shows eight Tile Grout cleaners to the test. They used a variety of industrial cleaners, home remedies, and store bought brands. The music in the video was hilarious. Each cleaner got a nine square area to prove what it could do. A cleaning brush was used for each spot. The nine squares were given a good scrubbing and allowed to sit. Once they were washed off and dried (something the video claims no other youtube video shows). Then each cleaner was put into one of three categories: Poor, Good, and Best. Three cleaners made the poor category: Baking Soda, Ultimate Grout Cleaner, and Simple Green (a surprise for me. I thought this one would do better). Three cleaners also made the good category: Miracle Cleaner, Vinegar, and Clorox Oh Magic. And the two winners of the test were Kaboom (no surprise there) and Soft Scrub w/bleach. Overall this was a nice presentation and I like how they showed the results when the shower was fully dry. A cleaner can sometimes leave residue behind that is not noticeable until it is dry, leaving a white film. So by showing the results dried really proves which cleaner is best, one that not only cleans but doesn’t leave a nasty residue in it’s wake. I’m grateful I watched this. Now I know which cleaners to buy and which ones not to waste my money on.
